The Christmas Rush is here!

Well the Christmas rush is still on. More shopping, more baking, more presents to wrap....Oh when does it stop!

Today was none stop. My son Jason and his girlfriend Tiffany came over in the morning and we went to the store to pick up a couple more presents I still needed to pick up. I hope I don't think of anything else!

After I got what I needed we went back to my house and we baked cookies and made candy all day. It was so much fun having someone to help....I usually do all the Holiday baking by myself. They were both a lot of help Jason made the fudges and Tiffany made the cookies. We made chocolate and peanut butter fudge, swedish cream wafers, spritz cookies and then Jason wanted to make boiled cookies my families favorite anytime of the year. I've been making these since my boys were just little.

Yes you can still bake in a kitchen that is only half there. Here are a few pictures of Jason and Tiffany cooking.

It sounds like you had so much fun with your family cooking up all of your treats! I had such a good time at scrap-n-away both times I was there! It is truly a treat to scrapbook and spend time there. Have a Merry Christmas!

I too would like the recipie for boiled cookies. They sound very interesting.
I love being in your mountain community. It is very friendly and inspiring for all our artsy pastimes.
Scrapbooking keeps us close to our roots and passes on our family memories.
Have a great holiday.

Hello Bonnie!
My name is Wilda, and like Linda, I was referred by Sarah Lefotu for the give away contest.
It will be so nice to get to go to your place and relax with some hot cocoa and some projects to do.

You may have given this recipe already, but I missed it. What are boiled cookies?

Hi Bonnie!
Oh, how I've missed coming up there to see you again (I was there in may of '07), eat your yummy, YUMMY food and scrap-away with my friends! I had a baby girl in March of this year so it's been tough to squeeze in a visit with nursing. I've already prepped my husband that I'm outta here and on my way to see you, your sweet husband, that beautiful cabin and catch up with you and my friends as soon as I'm done nursing. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope you have a happy & healthy 2009! Can't wait to see you in the Spring!
Lots of Love, Erin Miles
