Spring Break

I'm so excited.....today is the first day of Spring Break for my grandson's and I get to go pick them up so they can spend a week with me!!!! I have so many things planned to do with them I hope we have time to get them all in. They all get to pick a night to make what ever they want to cook for dinner so I made this layout

Walt Disney's Animated Blog Hop

Today I made this 2 page layout of My Grandson Tyler's visit with Belle. He was so excited to see her. She kissed him on the check and he didn't want to wash his face all day. I must say Grandpa was a little jealous LOL

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner

I have some exciting news....I'm starting a MONTHLY KIT KLUB.
Beginning April 1, 2012, I will be creating monthly kits using Creative Kuts files that will include paper and paper piecing to complete a two page layout. Everything is precut except for mats ~ making each layout kit able to be assembled in 30 min. or less! Using high quality paper and cardstock, each kit will consist of assembled inked characters designed by Creative Kuts, paper piecing to embellish the layout, background paper, supplies to create 6 4x6 double mats and colored picture of layout to use as a guide. Use the idea that is presented, or use your own creativity for a unique layout! The possibilities are endless!

The cost of membership is in your hands. You can pay as little as $20 for a two page layout kit. If you choose level 1 membership, which is a minimum of a 6 month membership, your cost will be $20 plus s&h per month. Level 2 membership will be charged $22.50 plus s&h per month for a minimum of a 3 month membership. Level 3 membership will be billed monthly $25.00 plus s&h. You may cancel at any time and billing will be adjusted according to terms of membership. You can send an e-mail to creativekutsmkk@gmail.com if you are interested.

Ok where did Jan. go? I can't beleive it's Feb. already. I hope this year doesn't fly by like last year.

I've been busy making a few things with Creative Kuts files first I have a layout using Eggs-tra Special

I wanted to make something for my Grandson who is always asking how many days until whatever is coming up so I made him this Valentine count down using Kisses $1

I don't know about you but I'm always ready for a little sunshine so I made this layout one day when the weather was more like winter then summer. Getting ready for this years vaction. I'm so ready to go to the beach and get some sun!!!! This file is called Beach Bums

I didn't quite get my layout for today finished. My son and his family ended up coming today to celebrate Christmas. This was the first chance they've had to come spend time with us so I was busy cooking most of the day. It was great having them but it sure put a crimp in my crafting today. LOL

I used DCWV Winter Mat Stack for this layout.the blue ribbon is paper I folded to look like ribbon,the white scalloped edge is a Martha Stewart Punch,the snow flake is from Cricuts Christmas Cheer cartridge and the Bling Swirl is from Prima. I hope to add a title and finish the layout tomorrow after the kids leave.

Swedish Cream Wafers

Swedish Cream Waffers

I know I've shared these before but these are my all time favorite cookies. I don't think I am the only one in my house either....they are gone before I can even get them frosted! They are a must in our house over the Holidays.

Swedish Cream Wafers
makes: 5 dozen

1 cup butter, softened
1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
granulated sugar
Combine the butter and whipping cream.
Add the flour.
Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 375F.
On a floured board, roll out 1/3 of the dough at a time to 1/8 inch thick.
Cut with 1-1/2 inch round cookie cutter.
Place lots of granulated sugar in a shallow bowl.
Coat cookies with the sugar on both sides.
Place rounds on ungreased baking sheets.
Prick each round with a fork about 4 times.
Bake 7 to 9 minutes.
Let cookies cool.

filling
1/4 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 egg yolk, optional
1 teaspoon vanilla
food coloring, optional Make the filling by beating 1/4 cup butter, powdered sugar, egg yolk and vanilla together.
Tint with food coloring, if desired. I use red and green for Christmas and add peppermint instead of vanilla

When cookies have cooled make sandwiches by placing some filling between two cookies. WARNING THESE COOKIES ARE ADDICTING!!!! :) I hope you and your family enjoy them as much as we do.

I cut each Christmas Ornament using my cricut and thin paper to use as a pattern. I then hand cut each piece out of felt,added sequins and beads around each piece and lightly stuffed to make them 3D. Ornament measure approximately 5" each.
